Manaus is the capital of the state of the Amazon in the northern region of Brazil, and it was famous in the 20th century for extracting and manufacturing rubber from the trees of the Amazon forests in what was known as the “rubber era”. Recently, it has turned into one of the most important cities in Brazil, its economic centers and its tourist destinations.
